Initial property recce: 

The recce is to understand the architecture, hotel or luxury property. This will take place prior to the photo-shoot. First of all we go through the shot list with the client, we get to understand what the marketing message is, the format and where the shots are likely to be featured.

We walk through the building alongside the client both inside and out, whilst taking important notes to gauge the best rooms, areas and angles to shoot.

We take compass readings to predict when the sun will hit the property to get a precise sense of lighting, working out the movement of the sun can drastically affect the possibility of the shots, we also identify any important architectural features such as facades, textures and details.

Exterior photography: 

This genre of photography focuses mainly on the architectural style and design of a building.

The exterior photography of a hotel or building is to capture the architectural features and also how it sits in its environment.

Whatever architectural style it is, be it Georgian, Modern, Gothic or Neo Classical, the grand facade will usually be the hero photograph. This shot is usually the first impression and point of contact between a customer and your brand. This image is very important as people usually make up their minds on something within seven-seconds. This should be the showstopper.

These photographs will be meticulously planned out in the aforementioned recce.
